Like many of the great technologies that impact our world today, the flagship product of AMS, the SCRAM Continuous Alcohol Monitoring™ (SCRAM CAM™) system, was started in the garage of a forward-thinking engineer. With a career history working on DOT-approved, handheld breath testing devices, our company founders identified a substantial need to better manage alcohol monitoring long-term in the criminal justice system.

In 1989 they began research into the world of transdermal alcohol testing. And in 1997, their vision came clearly into focus, with the founding of Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc.
